Limited exhibition space requires the constant rotation of works of art from our Permanent Collection, if you wish to see specific works not currently on exhibition, you are advised to do so by appointment. The Permanent Collection is supplemented by an active programme of temporary exhibitions. Admission is free, except for events with advertised fees.
General Information: Please leave prams, large bags and
rucksacks at the front desk. You may take photographs using a hand-held camera
except where indicated. CCTV is in operation throughout the Museum.
Works at Risk: Visitors are asked not to touch
works of art on exhibition as physical contact and grease from hands damage their vulnerable surfaces.
Disabled Access: There is a parking bay for the
disabled outside the Arts Hall and wheel chair ramps leading to both entrances.
A wheelchair is available on request.
Small Children: Visitors with babies are invited to
leave prams at the information desks. Children in pushchairs may be taken into
the Art Museum under supervision. All children under the age of 7 must be
accompanied by a responsible adult.
Photography, Videos and Sound
Recordings: You may
take photographs for private purposes only. Please use a handheld camera
without a flashlight. Applications for the use of a tripod, power pack, lights,
extension cables, and video cameras, recoding equipment or any other electronic
equipment must be made in advance in writing to the Director; a fee will be
charged.
Parking: There is limited street parking in
Park Drive (east) and metered parking in Park Drive (west) and Rink Street.
Public Transport: Buses: City – Rink Street –
Greenacres, every 30 minutes.
DO NOT SMOKE, EAT OR DRINK IN THE MUSEUM.
NOTICES
For
the protection of the works of art and our visitors, please take note of the
following:
- Right
of admission is reserved.
- Enter at your own risk.
- Do
not touch works of art. Dirt, moisture, and other contaminants present on hands
can stain or corrode the surfaces of artworks. Some works are more fragile than
they appear, and even simple touching can cause permanent damage. Help us
protect works of art and preserve our common heritage for future generations.
- The
Art Museum is not responsible for loss or damage to laptop computers, cameras
and other items of substantial value.
- No
Flash photography. Photography for personal use is permitted except in special
exhibitions and where specifically prohibited. Monopods and Tripods are not
permitted.
- Food
and beverages are not allowed inside the Art Museum and may not be eaten in the
exhibition halls.
- Back
packs are not allowed in the exhibition halls and visitors will be asked to
leave any items that cannot be carried reasonably and safely in some other
manner, at the front desk.
- Children
may not be carried on the shoulders of another person or pushed in prams or in
a backpack child carrier.
- No
animals are allowed in the Art Museum.
- No
dangerous weapons are allowed in the Art Museum.
- For
the convenience of our visitors, phone calls in the exhibition halls are
discouraged.
- By entering you agree; that any visuals captured can be used by the museum, without you being able to claim reimbursement
- Car Parking in the vicinity of the Art Museum is free.
