The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality through the Red Location Art Gallery and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum invited Eastern Cape artists to submit work for consideration for the Art Collection of the City.
The exhibition showcases selected works by artists who work and live (or have worked and lived) in the Eastern Cape.
The first round of selections took place in May 2022 for selected artists to be included in the exhibition.
The exhibition opens to the public on the 29 June 2022 at the NMM Art Museum.
The artworks are for sale.
The artists selected to be part of the exhibition are: Angie Weisswange, Anton Brink, Ayanda Mji, Banele Njadayi, Bongani Njalo, Celela Nonongwe, Graham Jones, Joanne Reen, Jonathan Van der Walt, Karl Schoemaker, Khaya Gqomo, Lizo Pemba, Llise Dodd, Lookout Sibanda, Lydia Holmes, Marc Pradervand, Margot Muir, Michael Barry, Michael Wedderburn, Mxolisi Sapeta, Nokuzola Ngcangca, Nompumezo Gubevu, Nwabisa Mnqumevu, Phumlile Rawana, Raymond Westraadt, Sarah Walmsley, Simon Venter, Siphosethu Plam, Timothy Hopwood and Wandile Ntlanganiso.
